Great read, Melody

I recently wrote about how GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is becoming part of this shift, too — how content now needs to speak to both search engines and AI systems. Would love for you to take a look if you’re curious:

Love this discussion — there are so many acronyms floating around right now to describe what’s happening with “old-school SEO” and AI-driven visibility. For the small business owners I work with, it really comes down to one thing: being visible — no matter what we call it.

Your article nails the point that the fundamentals haven’t changed — the same factors that helped a site rank before AI still matter (and maybe even more now). What is changing is how we write: content needs to sound natural and conversational so AI can understand intent, not just keywords.

I’ve actually identified ten types of articles that tend to get pulled into AI responses when formatted properly. For most of my clients, keeping it simple — focusing on local visibility rather than jargon — is what really drives results.
